Who processes this data

David Pichot, site publisher. Contact: [email protected]

This site sells nothing, shows no advertising, and uses no ad network. The data is used only to understand how the site is viewed, so I can improve it. It is not sold, transferred, or shared with anyone.

What is measured without your consent

Basic traffic measurement starts as soon as a page opens. It sets no cookie: the session identifier lives in the tab’s memory and disappears when the tab is closed.

It records: the page viewed, the date and time, the page you came from, the browser language, the device type, the browser, the screen size, the country and city inferred from the IP address, and the IP address itself.

The IP address is personal data. It is used to distinguish bot visits from human visits and to locate the audience geographically, never to identify someone.

What is measured only with your consent

Two additional measures start only after you click “Accept.” Until you accept, they are not loaded at all.

Device fingerprint. It reads the technical configuration of the device: graphics capabilities, supported video formats, installed fonts, refresh rate, display preferences, permissions granted to the browser, and available storage space. Taken together, this configuration is often unique: it can recognize the same device from one visit to the next. It is pseudonymized data, not anonymous data.

Behavioral measurements. They record rhythm: cursor path and speed, click duration, scrolling behavior, and intervals between two keystrokes. The content of what you type is never recorded, only the tempo.

These two measures serve one purpose: distinguishing a human visitor from an automated program. The site receives many bot visits, and without them the statistics mean nothing.

How long

Your full IP address is kept for 90 days. After that, its last part is dropped: it no longer points to your machine, only to your network. After 25 months, it is deleted.

The rest, the page viewed, the date, the country, the city, identifies no one once the address is gone. These anonymous statistics are kept, because the point of this tool is precisely to compare one year with the next.

Your choice on the banner is kept for 6 months in your browser, after which the question is asked again.

Where this data goes

Audience measurements go nowhere: they stay on this site’s servers, hosted in France by OVH. No external analytics tool, no ad network, no transfer outside the European Union.

The conversation with Owan is the only separate case, and it is described below.

When you talk to Owan

Owan is this site’s assistant. She never starts on her own: nothing is recorded until you open her window and write or speak.

What is kept. Your messages and her replies, on the site’s server, hosted in France, encrypted. A random identifier lives in your browser’s memory to retrieve your conversation from one visit to the next: it is not a cookie, it does not leave your device, and you can erase it by clearing the site data.

Why. For one reason only: to let David answer you himself if you ask to reach him. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared, nothing is used for advertising.

What is sent, and to whom. The text of the conversation is processed by Mistral AI, a French company, to compose the reply. If you enable voice, the same company transcribes what you say and reads the reply aloud. The microphone listens only for the duration of your sentence, the recording is sent for transcription and is not kept. These processes take place in the European Union.

The only exception. If you ask to reach David, or if Owan does not know how to answer, your message and the latest exchanges are sent to him through Telegram, whose servers are outside the European Union. This is the only transfer outside the EU on this site. It happens only on this request, and it contains only what you wrote.

How long. As long as needed to answer you, then on request. Write to the address below: your conversation will be deleted, with no justification required.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, or object to its processing. One address: [email protected]. Response within one month.

If the answer does not satisfy you, you can contact the CNIL: www.cnil.fr.

Changing your choice

At any time, through the “Cookies” link at the bottom of each page. Refusing removes nothing from the site: everything remains accessible, unchanged.
